What a fantastic expedition!!! Trauma, drama, death, injury, and sickness aside.
As you all know, no one summited from our team. We had four climbers stay behind for another shot at a weather window...and a trip through the hell of the rockfall area. That has ended now. I just got back from the hospital. Ger was hit in the head and wounded seriously. He was choppered out and beat us back to Skardu. He is kinda out of it but the Russian doctor says he will be ok minus some memory loss.
K2 is so dangerous... I still wince when I think about it. Hope everyone is well. This is a Muslim holiday and the hotel mgr is letting me use his computer for a minute to send this brief update. I will write more when I can get to a public computer.
